2025 Dodge Charger Price, Pictures, Release Date & More | Kelley Blue Book (2024)

The 2025 Dodge Charger is an all-new, all-electric car with an emphasis on performance. We expect pricing to start at around $50,000.

There’s something so right about an electric car being called a Charger. Welcome to a brave new world where kilowatts take over from cubic inches and volts provide the jolts. Dodge is taking its performance philosophy and electrifying it, literally and figuratively. Here is the Charger of the future.

What’s New for 2025

This Charger is entirely different than what has come before, built on a new platform. Dodge calls it the world’s first electrified muscle car, with a top version called the SRT Banshee. The company also offers a choice regarding power upgrades with so-called crystal keys plugging into the dash to unlock more performance. The SRT Banshee is said to run on an 800-volt electric architecture, with models below that using a 400-volt setup. The larger number means greater energy density and faster charging to accompany the inevitably rapid acceleration times.

Although the new Charger is a coupe, we’re anticipating a 4-door version at some point as well. A variant with a combustion engine might also be available, most likely a twin-turbocharged 6-cylinder unit rather than any kind of V8. We’ll be updating this piece whenever more information is released.

What kind of range will the new Dodge Charger have?

No facts at this point, but the technology employed by the Charger might be capable of far more than 300 miles. The high-performance SRT Banshee probably won’t travel that far, though.

On-Sale Date

The new 2025 Charger electric vehicle (EV) is expected to go on sale in late 2024.

2025 Dodge Charger Pricing

We expect the 2025 Dodge Charger to start at around $50,000. That would be a 340 model with 445 horsepower. After that comes a sliding upward scale with power levels increasing. Prices will likely head toward the $90K mark and possibly beyond with the SRT Banshee. For context, the Tesla Model S — with a 405-mile range and a 0-60 mph sprint time of 3.1 seconds — starts at $75K.

Engine & Transmission

The base configuration of the 2025 Charger is the 340, taking its name from the number of kilowatts (kW) the electric motor (or motors — we’re still not sure exactly how many there will be) generates. It turns out that 340 kilowatts translates to a plentiful 455 horsepower. This version’s eStage 1 upgrade pushes out to 495 horsepower (370 kW), with eStage 2 going up to 535 horsepower (400 kW).

Naturally, Dodge decided not to stop there. Next comes the 440 level, making 590 horsepower. Then 630 horsepower (470 kW) with eStage 1 and 670 horsepower (500 kW) with eStage 2. These extra stages are activated by “crystal” keys the driver plugs into the dashboard. It’s a novel way of selling a new electric car.

Dodge has yet to specify how much muscle the all-wheel-drive SRT Banshee will have. We can assume it will be too much. We remember how readily the supercharged 807-horsepower Charger SRT Hellcat responded to the merest twitch of the right foot on the throttle. Given the typically eager reactions of electric motors, the SRT Banshee should be extremely interesting, to say the least.

KBB Vehicle Review and Rating Methodology

Our Expert Ratings come from hours of both driving and number crunching to make sure that you choose the best car for you. We comprehensively experience and analyze every new SUV, car, truck, or minivan for sale in the U.S. and compare it to its competitors. When all that dust settles, we have our ratings.

We require new ratings every time an all-new vehicle or a new generation of an existing vehicle comes out. Additionally, we reassess those ratings when a new-generation vehicle receives a mid-cycle refresh — basically, sprucing up a car in the middle of its product cycle (typically, around the 2-3 years mark) with a minor facelift, often with updates to features and technology.

Rather than pulling random numbers out of the air or off some meaningless checklist, KBB’s editors rank a vehicle to where it belongs in its class. Before any car earns its KBB rating, it must prove itself to be better (or worse) than the other cars it’s competing against as it tries to get you to spend your money buying or leasing.

Our editors drive and live with a given vehicle. We ask all the right questions about the interior, the exterior, the engine and powertrain, the ride and handling, the features, the comfort, and of course, about the price. Does it serve the purpose for which it was built? (Whether that purpose is commuting efficiently to and from work in the city, keeping your family safe, making you feel like you’ve made it to the top — or that you’re on your way — or making you feel like you’ve finally found just the right partner for your lifestyle.)

We take each vehicle we test through the mundane — parking, lane-changing, backing up, cargo space and loading — as well as the essential — acceleration, braking, handling, interior quiet and comfort, build quality, materials quality, reliability.
