What You Need

1/2 pound of ground beef

Worcestershire sauce

1 Egg

1/3 packet of dry onion soup mix

1/2 tsp of black pepper

2/3 cup of cheddar cheese

1 roll of crescents

What To Do

Preheat oven to 375

In a skillet heat a small amount of oil and brown meat. Drain excess fat.

In a medium size bowl mix – 1/2 cup of cheese, onion soup mix, couple drops of Worcestershire sauce, pepper; meat.

Unroll the crescents. Place a rounded tablespoon of the meat mixture towards the larger end of the crescent dough

Roll – I personally made them into little pockets.

Place crescents onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.

Brush the tops of the dough with an egg wash ( simply break and egg in a bowl and whisk egg until well blended and 1 tablespoon of water to the mix).

Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top of the egg wash and bake for 10 – 15 minutes.

Enjoy

I added a veg puree, like I do to all ground beef recipes. The kids love it. So simple. Can be made ahead.

Fixed these for supper tonight…. they were a big hit (even with the picky eater in the family)!!!

    • Budget Savvy Diva

I am so glad you liked them 🙂

  • JW

These were pretty good, and easy to make! I found them on Pinterest.

  • momstheword

Do they reheat well and taste yummy as leftovers too? I have two adult sons with weird work schedules, so I’m wondering if I should wait to make this when everyone is home or if they’ll be just fine the next day too. Thanks!

  • mike

Tasty recipe however i did find it difficult. I was attempting to make larger ones and instructions arent given to make “little pockets”

  • Leanne

Did you really add pickle to the mix?? I love pickles and I was wondering how to add them in. Can they be cooked??

  • jCm

Made these tonight for the Hubbs..quick, easy & I added 2 T. Dill pickle relish. Tasted just like a burger but without all the bread! Oh, and the Hubbs liked them SO much, he asked me to make them again this week!

  • Tracy Herman

I made these last night and will double the recipe next time. No leftovers:( They were great!!!!!

  • kristi townsend

I could have sworn I had crescent rolls in the fridge…Nope I sure didn’t but i had a can of 10 biscuits. I adapted this to just roll them out flat, put the filling in and cover either with the other half of the biscuit roll or use a whole biscuit on top to make them bigger. and finished the recipe. They are just fluffier than the crescent rolls.

  • Brittney

I loved these! I made a low fat version with 85% lean ground beef, and reduced fat crescents. I eyeballed the onion soup mix, worcestershire sauce, and pepper, and tasted as I mixed. They turned out so good! My husband is a picky eater and usually gets really nervous when I attempt recepies I find on Pinterest, but he loved this one. I dipped mine in a horseradish and ketchup. I’m going to try adding pickles next time! Thanks for sharing:)

    • Budget Savvy Diva

      Wahoo!!! Glad you liked them

  • Shannon

What do you normally fix as a side with it?

  • Cecilia

Seriously delicious!! I made these for my family last night and everyone LOVED THEM!!! They were so quick and easy to prepare, too! Can’t wait to make these again. Thanks for sharing!

  • Tara

These were yummy! I doubled the recipe and it made more than enough to feed 5 people and have leftovers!

  • Courtney

Wonder how well these freeze ?

  • Melinda

I think this is a fabulous recipe, but I tweaked it a titch! I made them into mini crescent shepherd pies and holy cats they were fabulous! Mixed veg, mashed spuds and the same meat recipe as above. I used 2 crescents per pocket for size. Big hit with the family!!

  • Pam Waters

I’m going to try these tonight. Has anyone ever tried adding hamburger toppings (ketchup, mustard, chili, onions, etc.) into the packets instead of dipping them? Do you think it would work fine?

  • Laura

I tried these tonight and my hubby said, “These are a keeper. You have to make em’ again!” Mine didn’t look as pretty as yours though.

  • DeAnn

I made these for dinner, and they are awesome!!! I had leftover bacon that I crumbled into pieces and added it just before closing up the crescent rolls!! Thank you for sharing this recipe. I have a feeling I will be making these quite often. 🙂

  • Meg B

Made this tonight! Reminded me of a Runza. Yum!

  • Shannon

Made them for dinner tonight. They were delicious and my 5 year old LOVED them. I did modify it because I didn’t have onion soup mix. Added chopped onions and hamburger seasoning in while the hamburger was browning. Also, I used 93% lean ground beef and I think it makes it tough to get all the filling in only 8 crescent rolls. If using lower fat meat, I would use less meat, especially if you want to add other things in as well. Or else use a little more meat and double the number of rolls. Also, I think I would use more cheese inside next time.

  • Jetteh22

Made these for dinner last night! I changed the recipe just a tad by actually browning the beef -with- the onion soup mix and didn’t measure the other seasonings/cheese – just added until it tasted good. But it was one of the easiest, most delicious snack meals ever.

  • michelle

Iv made this before and my whole family LOVED it! I was getting ready to make it again tonight but realized were out of onion soup mix 🙁 any suggestions on what I could use instead?

    • Budget Savvy Diva

      No 🙁

      • Jasmine

A packet of ranch dressing mix (same amount) works good … then you can just add onions or bacon to boost it up a little! So delish!

  • Jasmine

I made these with biscuit dough and a packet of ranch dressing mix … mmm were they good!!

  • Danielle

These are absolutely delicious! My family of 5 gobbled them up! I had to double the recipe bc my boys are huge eaters (they ate 5 each)and I added chopped pickles on top of the meat before wrapping them up!!! Sooooooo good!!

  • ANDREA RING

Looks delish! Going to make these tonight. Thanks!

  • Michee

I added Swiss cheese, mushrooms and jalapeños and they are DELISH!!!
    Thank you:)

  • Lisa T

    Sooooooooo delish!! Thank you!

  • Christel

These look good. But I wonder, can the cheese be omitted?

  • Shae

Yay! Finally a winner! I have been trying lots of new recipes lately, we were stuck in a dinner rut. The past few recipes I have tried have not been hits with enough members of our family of six, but this one was! Even our two year old had seconds. Will definitely make again! They were fun to make too!

    • Watson

Yay!!!! I am glad it was a winner:)

  • Mr Fitz

Love the idea of these.. its going into my ‘must make’ list of stuff to cook.. Thanks!!
