Overview

The Dodge Charger Daytona EV muscle car will be back for its sophom*ore year both largely unchanged and thoroughly different: this year the Daytona coupe is joined by a four-door sedan stablemate. The 2025 Daytona sedan adheres to the same design directive as the coupe that debuted in 2024 but trades a bit of svelte style for the added convenience of a pair of rear doors. The interior follows the retro edict too, featuring an updated pistol-grip shifter and long, lean shapes accented by continuous stitching that runs across the dashboard and doors. A 93.9-kWh nickel cobalt aluminum battery provides voltage for front and rear motors; range estimates run from 260 miles for the Daytona Scat Pack to 319 miles for the R/T. A max charge rate of 183 kW is possible when hooked to a 350 kW DC charger, taking the battery from 20 to 80 percent in a claimed 33 minutes. Doing the same on level 2 chargers will take just under six hours, says Dodge. The 2025 Charger Daytona will begin production in early 2025 along with its gasoline-powered, two- and four-door Charger counterparts. Look for it to hit showrooms later that year.

What's New for 2025?

A pair of rear doors. Dodge let the Charger Daytona EV coupe have the spotlight to itself for its 2024 model year debut, as that model’s styling directly channeled that of the original first- and second-generation Chargers. While the four-door body style may not offer quite as pure of a stylistic interpretation, it’s a heck of a lot more practical for many users. It’s also worth noting that the arrival of the 2025 Charger Daytona EV sedan coincides with the debut of the two- and four-door, gasoline-powered 2025 Charger models, which we review separately. An even more powerful SRT Banshee trim is also in the works, but we suspect it won't launch until the 2026 model year.

Pricing and Which One to Buy

The price of the 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona EV is expected to start around $50,000 and go up to $60,000 depending on the trim and options.

    It’s still a bit of a mystery how the sedan will slot into the Charger’s pricing hierarchy, but we can’t imagine it deviating more than fifteen percent in either direction from the coupe's price. That means the more powerful Scat Pack is still our choice; that is until we see where the pricing for the even more powerful Charger Daytona SRT Banshee lands when it's announced. We also expect the many options and packages—Plus Group, Blacktop Package, Track Package, Carbon and Suede Package, and the Sun & Sound Package just to name the headline items—to continue.

    EV Motor, Power, and Performance

    Both Dodge Charger Daytona models utilize 400-volt architecture with an integrated charge module and two electric motors, one front and one rear, that provide standard all-wheel drive. A 93.9-kWh nickel cobalt aluminum battery provides the juice and three levels of regeneration are available via wheel-mounted paddle. Optional Direct Connection Stage power-upgrade kits provide a 15-second power boost (40 hp to the R/T and 80 hp to the Scat Pack) enabling them to access their respective maximum output figures of 496 hp for the Daytona R/T and 670 for the Daytona Scat Pack. To ensure you don’t forget this EV is a Dodge EV, a raucous synthetic exhaust soundtrack announces your arrival, and optional features include a Donut mode, a Drift mode, Line Lock, and launch control. Performance pages return, clocking performance metrics with timers, gauges, g-forces, and additional info, storing it for review later. We’ll update this section with real-world observations, performance facts, and testing data as soon as we get our hands on the new Charger Daytona.

    0–60-MPH Times

    Dodge claims a 3.3-second zero-sixty time for the Daytona Scat Pack and a 4.7-second time for the Daytona R/T in coupe form. Expect the 2025 Daytona sedan to nearly duplicate these numbers, possibly giving up a tenth—or possibly a few hundredths—depending on the four-door's final weight figure, which isn’t yet available.

    Range, Charging, and Battery Life

    Range numbers aren’t yet set in stone, but preliminary Dodge estimates peg the Daytona R/T’s range at 317 miles and the Daytona Scat Pack at 260 miles. Peak charge rate is 183 kW; onboard charging is limited to 11 kW. Dodge claims the Charger Daytona can be recharged from 20 to 80 percent in just over 27 minutes when hooked to a Level 3 DC CCS fast charger. A 350-kW fast charger is estimated to add approximately 9.9 miles per minute of charging time for the Daytona R/T and 8.1 miles per minute for the Daytona Scat Pack. Optional Level 2 charging units will be available from Dodge; public charging credits can be used via Stellantis’ new Free2Move Charge EV charging program.

    Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

    The Daytona's interior should comfortably accommodate four adults. Instrument cluster screens measuring 10.3 and 16.0 inches are available, and a 12.3-inch infotainment display is standard across all models. Like the exterior, the designers worked to echo the style and feel of the original 1968 Charger. In that same vein, a modern interpretation of the classic “pistol grip” shifter resides in the center console, along with the start/power button and a wireless phone charger. Dodge hasn’t revealed the cargo volume of the Daytona sedan's trunk yet, but we expect the coupe’s 1.5 cubic foot frunk to carry over.

      Infotainment and Connectivity

      A 12.3-inch touchscreen gives access to Chrysler’s intuitive Uconnect 5 infotainment system, providing access to satellite radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, and navigation, including the new Navigator Charging Location feature for easier location of charging stations. New electric vehicle pages share power flow information, battery regeneration status, and charge states. A new digital key app links to your phone and includes an NFC Smart Card for times when you don’t have it. The free Dodge phone app allows remote monitoring of charge levels, setting of charge schedules, and location of charging stations. A head-up display is available; standard audio is an Alpine nine-speaker, 506-watt stereo with subwoofer; a premium 18-speaker, 914-watt Alpine system with subwoofer is optional.

        Safety and Driver-Assistance Features

        The Charger features a comprehensive list of standard and optional safety and driver-assistance tech regardless of the powertrain. In addition to the typical standard kit like forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist, it also includes “vulnerable road users’ detection,” a broadly-named tech item for pedestrians and bicyclists.
